The DNR Division of Law Enforcement is investigating the apparent drowning death of a North Judson man yesterday near the Starke-LaPorte County line.
Conservation officers responded to the Kankakee Fish and Wildlife Area to investigate a vehicle found upside down in the Yellow River. A diver entered the water around 1 p.m. and found a lone occupant in the vehicle. He was identified as 22-year-old Stephen Agardy of North Judson.
An autopsy is scheduled today, and the circumstances leading to his death are still under investigation.
