Hundreds of supporters turned out to meet Republican Presidential hopeful Sen. Ted Cruz during a brief Sunday evening stop in Winamac. He spent about an hour at Cruizer’s Restaurant across from the Pulaski County courthouse greeting supporters and posing for photos.
Pulaski County Republican Party Chairman Blair Todd says his visit underscores the importance of Tuesday’s Indiana primary.
Our individual votes are more important than they’ve ever been, and our attempt to try and motivate other people to vote for the candidate we’re in favor of is more important than ever,” Todd said. To hear national newscasters say that Indiana is going to determine the GOP candidate, I’ve never heard that before in my lifetime.”
Cruz did not answer questions from reporters, rather opting to spend his time talking to supporters before leaving for a previously announced evening rally in LaPorte. He signed several autographs, including one on the restaurant wall that reads, “Always stand for liberty.”
Photos from the event are posted on the WKVI Facebook page.
