Family members of the woman killed by a hit-and-run driver in Wanatah on Wednesday have contacted the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Department. Investigators are still looking for the driver of the car that struck Shawn Ellyn Rybicki at the intersection of U.S. 421 and U.S. 30 on Wednesday afternoon around 2 p.m. An autopsy conducted yesterday confirmed she died of blunt force trauma.
Detectives from the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office are interested in speaking with anyone who may have had contact with Rybicki on Wednesday afternoon. They’re also asking that any body shops or vehicle repair businesses who have customers seeking to repair unexplained damage to contact the detective bureau at 219-326-7700.
