The revitalization of the Town of Hamlet is well underway. The first phase of a three-part revitalization program of sidewalks and lighting is near completion. The Hamlet Town Board last night discussed a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the new and improved look to the downtown area.
New security cameras at the Hamlet Town Park have been installed, according to a report at the Hamlet Park Board meeting last night. Remote viewing by police officers and others will be available within the next 30 days. A new soda pop vending machine is expected to be installed there soon.
The Town Board took action to approve an additional appropriation resolution for $6,000 for supplies from the “Riverboat Fund.” There were no taxpayers present to question the adoption of the advertised ordinance.
Discussion was held about the advisability of purchasing a used bush hog as well as a tractor. Prices and availability will be brought to the next meeting.
