A Knox man who is accused of stealing a trailer from a local store late Wednesday night didn’t get far before he was apprehended by the police.
The Knox Police Department received a report of a suspicious vehicle at Smith Farm Store around 11:20 p.m., according to the incident report. The caller provided a vehicle description, and a Knox officer stopped the vehicle at Culver Road and Klockner Drive.
He discovered the vehicle was pulling a trailer that had been stolen from Smith Farm Store and also found unspecified merchandise from the store inside it.
Shawn Allen, 35, of Knox, was arrested on preliminary charges of theft as a Level 6 felony and driving while suspended as a misdemeanor.
