The Melody Drive-In Theater at Bass Lake is returning to a weekends-only schedule for the remainder of the season. The popular summertime attraction will remain open through September, but will not show films Monday through Thursday nights.
Owner Fred Heise says business drops off drastically when school starts, and many of his part-time employees are students.
Films now showing at the drive-in include “Suicide Squad” and “Lights Out” on Screen 1 and “The Secret Life of Pets” and” Jason Bourne” on the second screen.
The list of coming attractions includes “Pete’s Dragon” and “Finding Dory.” Patrons will also have an opportunity to see the remake of the classic “Ben-Hur” on the big screen before the drive-in closes for the season.
