Mosquito Outbreak Prompts City of Knox Spraying

The City of Knox says it is taking steps to limit the presence of mosquitoes in the community.

Additional precipitation in late August has created proper conditions for mosquitoes to multiply to the point of being a nuisance. In response, the City of Knox says they will be working to suppress the outbreak by spraying for them around the community through the Labor Day holiday weekend.

Mosquitoes are often most active in the morning and in the evening, but thrive around standing water. Similar to West Nile virus prevention, standing water is recommended for removal out of tires, bird baths, and depressions in yards.
