The Town of Winamac is ready to submit a draft of its five-year park and recreation plan. Last week, the park board voted to proceed with submitting the draft to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources Division of Outdoor Recreation.
That allows state officials to review the plan and recommend changes. Once the final revisions are made and the plan receives final approval, Winamac will be eligible to receive grant funding from the DNR. That’s expected to help the town complete its swimming pool rebuilding project, as well as other projects in the future.
Meanwhile, the town continues to seek input on park facilities from local residents and park users. An online survey’s been created to give residents a chance to weigh in. A public input session was held last month.
