Let the WKVI staff serve you tomorrow night. We’ll be waiting table at the Knox Pizza Hut from 4 until 8 p.m., and all of our tips will go to Pizza Hut: The Literacy Project. It’s an outgrowth of the restaurant chain’s “Book It!” program, which rewards reading with certificates for Personal Pan Pizzas.
Pizza Hut has partnered with the nonprofit organization First Book for the literacy campaign. It’s designed to enable access to reading, empower teachers with greater resources and inspire a lifelong love of reading, helping those who need it most reach their full potential.
Come see us tomorrow night, and please tip generously. Our staff will be working alongside the restaurant waitstaff, who will be paid a training wage during the dinner shift.
This is the fourth year the WKVI staff has taken part in the fundraiser. Each year we’ve raised over $300 for charity.
