The Pulaski County Commissioners may sign an agreement to implement internal controls on the county government’s handling of finances.
The matter is considered a state requirement to prevent internal theft and provide safety nets for the handling of money and other important information. Individual counties have been working to analyze their current process for handling money and provide corrections to combat any illegal activities that may be located.
The Pulaski County Attorney has been in contact with Crowe Horwath about the changes since the recommendation was handed down by the state. Any contract is expected to cost in the thousands of dollars to ensure compliance with a plan submitted in the coming months.
Tonight’s meeting starts at 6:00 p.m. EST at the Pulaski County Courthouse.
