Free Dental Screenings Available for LaPorte County Veterans in Need

LaPorte County veterans who need some help paying for dental care will be able to get some free assistance tomorrow. As part of Operation Stand Down, Dr. Daniel Fridh and other LaPorte County dentists are offering free dental screenings from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. They will take place at the office of Dr. David Porter at 1112 Indiana Avenue in LaPorte.

According to the Healthcare Foundation of LaPorte, the screenings will include an exam and an x-ray. If treatment is deemed to be necessary, veterans will be referred to a LaPorte County dentist who will provide cleanings, fillings, dental implants or extractions at no cost. Those who are in need of invisalign treatment may visit this website to schedule an appointment with a cosmetic dentist.

Tomorrow’s Operation Stand Down event is open to veterans who live in LaPorte County, do not have a dentist, do not have dental insurance, and have a limited ability to pay, read here for information on how important dental services are. Veterans wanting to take advantage of the service will be required to bring their discharge papers and a valid driver’s license or state-issued identification.
