The City of Knox will continue leaf pickup into December as weather allows, and has announced a schedule for the remaining passes.
Leaves will be picked up in Precinct 1 on Mondays, Precinct 2 on Tuesdays, Precinct 3 on Wednesdays and Precinct 4 on Thursdays. Friday will be a catch-up day as time allows.
Also, on any given day that one area is completed, crews will continue on to the next precinct for clean-up.
Residents are reminded to place all leaves in front of your residence next to the curb in a long row. Do not put them in the alley. Also, do not bag leaves, as the garbage contractor will not pick them up.
Branches and limbs will be picked up each Thursday by the Knox Street Department.
Residents can also drop off leaves, grass, garden material or brush at the city compost pile at the corner of Shield and Mound Streets behind City Hall. Please remove them from bags or containers before leaving them.
Also, the city will not take brush remaining from professional tree removal jobs, as that is the removal company’s responsibility.
