Sheriff’s Department officials say 31-year-old Shawn Bowerson was driving a Chevrolet TrailBlazer north on U.S. 35 and struck a Jeep Cherokee that was turning onto 400 South. The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. and shut the highway down for several hours. Bowerson reportedly tested .12 during a breath test and was arrested. He has since posted bond.
