The Town of Hamlet is getting into the Christmas spirit. A brief tree lighting ceremony was held last Wednesday, prior to the regular park board and town council meetings.
During the meetings, plans were discussed for some holiday activities taking place in the town. The park board scheduled judging for the annual home decorating contest for the evening of Saturday, December 17. The first place winner will get $100, second place will receive $75, and the third place prize is $50.
The Hamlet Police Department is also planning a holiday event, aimed at better acquainting the town’s families with law enforcement officials.
