Starke County Economic Development Foundation Executive Director Charlie Weaver will speak to the Knox City Council this evening on behalf of a local business. He’s on the agenda for the 7 p.m. meeting along with representatives from J.W. Hicks. The company is a world class refractory maker for the metals industry which also offers a full range of mechanical services and products to complement its refractory products.
J.W. Hicks has two buildings in the Knox Industrial Park. The lance-making facilities embody the latest technology and manufacturing methods available in the world today.
The company’s slidegate plant was built in 1998 and is one of the most technologically advanced facilities in the world, according to information posted on the company’s website.
