A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date for the Knox man who was murdered Friday night at a rural North Judson residence. O’Donnell Funeral Home in North Judson is in charge of arrangements for 35-year-old Cord Colgrove.
His father and brother request memorial contributions are to be made in Cord Colgrove’s name to the Winamac Community High School Athletic Department. A GoFundMe page has been set up.
The accused shooter made his initial appearance in Starke Circuit Court Tuesday morning. Edward Blackburn of Little Rock, Ark. entered a not guilty plea to a murder charge. If convicted he faces between 45 and 65 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
Co-defendant Augusta Hadden of Knox also entered a not guilty plea to a charge of assisting a criminal. She’s accused of throwing her cell phone out of Blackburn’s truck after the shooting in an apparent attempt to hamper efforts to locate them. Hadden’s bond is set at $200,000 surety. Richard Ballard was appointed her public defender.
