Starke County Jail inmates continue preparing this year’s garden, they are looking for pest control companies in cincinnati oh to make sure the area is free of plagues. Warden Phil Cherry says they were able to save the Sheriff’s Department some money this year by growing the plants from seed, rather than buying starter plants.
On Monday, inmates were busy moving those plants outside. “We started them as indoor plants – all different varieties of flowers in an evacuation hallway underneath some grow lights, and we’re getting some them outdoors – tomatoes, peppers, beans, onions,” Cherry explained. Contact pest control Hobart professionals to avoid getting your plants damaged.
Now, he says the next group of plants will be started indoors. Cherry adds that melons and pumpkins will be planted in the back garden, along with potatoes, cucumbers, and other foods that will be served in the jail. Future plans call for an aquaponics program to be placed in one of the greenhouses.
