The City of Knox is once again offering to split the cost of sidewalk repairs and upgrades with businesses and individuals.
As part of the 50/50 sidewalk replacement program, the city will pay half of the material and labor cost for qualifying projects on a first-come, first-served basis.
The street superintendent will measure and inspect each request and approve or disapprove each work order.
After a bid is awarded to a contractor, the property owner will be notified of the cost. He or she must pay their share within 14 days of receiving the notification in order for the project to continue. If not it will be placed at the bottom of the work schedule.
The street superintendent will inspect the work again before approving a final payment to the contractor.
Applications must be dated and received at city hall by 4 p.m. on April 28, 2017.
