The Oregon-Davis School Corporation has gotten a $2,500 donation, thanks to the Monsanto Fund and a local farmer. Superintendent Don Harman says the corporation was awarded the money as part of Monsanto’s America’s Farmers Grow Communities program.
Each year, farmers in rural areas across the country are given the chance to nominate a non-profit organization for a $2,500 donation. One winner is chosen at random in each qualifying county.
While Harman says Oregon-Davis was not officially told who nominated them, the America’s Farmers website lists Janet Hayes of Hamlet as Starke County’s winning farmer for 2017.
