The City of Knox has contractors lined up for the 50-50 sidewalk program and summer street paving. The Board of Works Wednesday accepted the low bid for sidewalk projects as part of the program from Grovertown-based Covenant Concrete Construction for $18,340. As part of the program, the city splits the cost of sidewalk replacements with homeowners.
The council also awarded the street paving bid of $89,250 to E&B Paving. Their bid was only $600 less than Rieth-Riley. Street Superintendent Jeff Borg notes the summer project list includes milling and addressing drainage issues in Brown Circle.
