The North Judson Town Council this week approved the purchase of parts necessary to replace a sewer lift station damaged in a hit-and-run accident. The $26,970 cost will be covered by insurance, and the crash is still under investigation. It happened at the intersection of 3rd and Luken Streets during the overnight hours of Monday, May 22 or early Tuesday, May 23.
It’s one of nine lift stations around town. Superintendent Marshall Hortsman says Flow Technics provides the parts and service for all of them. He says crews have been removing between four and five loads of waste daily from the damaged lift station.
Anyone with information about the hit-and-run should contact the Starke County Sheriff’s Office at 574-772-3771.
