The Starke County Public Library System will soon be looking for a new director. Rose Frost submitted her letter of resignation to the board during last night’s meeting. June 30 will be her last day.
In her letter, Frost cited several accomplishments over the past two years, including implementation of strict financial controls, building improvements at all four locations and migration to the Evergreen system, which has saved the county money and expanded resources available to Starke County residents.
The Starke County Public Library also participates in the Statewide Remote Circulation System, which gives patrons access to 36 million items from 200 libraries. Frost also oversaw the creation of the SCPL’s Strategic Plan and Marketing Plan. It was developed last year with community input.
Longtime library employee Andrea Brown will serve as marketing and community relations coordinator for the SCPL system. Frost intends to spend her remaining time at the library working with Brown on marketing, publicity and public relations.
