Pulaski County farmers can get some tips about planning for their farm’s future. The Pulaski County Community Development Commission is hosting a Farmers’ Breakfast on Wednesday, August 2.
The featured speaker will be attorney Dan Gordon. He’ll discuss estate planning and ownership transition, to help farmers make sure their property stays in the family.
CDC Executive Director Nathan Origer told the county commissioners Monday it’s part of a larger effort for his office. “This we’re hoping to be the start of continued improved outreach with the agricultural community,” he explained, “so doing events like this more often.” He previously said the CDC hasn’t done much work with farmers up until now, since there aren’t many incentives the county can give them.
The Farmers’ Breakfast will be held August 2 at 8:30 a.m. at the Bethel Bible Church in Winamac. Those interested in attending need to register with the CDC by tomorrow by calling 574-946-3869.
