Oregon-Davis School Board Reviews Instructional Fees, Wellness Policy, Transfer Student Limit

The Oregon-Davis School Board has approved instructional fees for the upcoming school year. Superintendent Don Harman says there are only a few minor changes, due to the adoption of new science textbooks.

Here’s the complete list by grade level:

  • K – $80.00

  • 1st – $100.00

  • 2nd – $100.00

  • 3rd – $100.00

  • 4th – $100.00

  • 5th – $100.00

  • 6th – $100.00

  • 7th – $142.39 (core)

  • 8th – $146.65 (core)

  • 9th – $165.29 (core)

  • 10th – $184.85 (core)

  • 11th – $119.03 (core)

  • 12th – $131.58 (core)

Also during last week’s meeting, the school board reviewed a few policies. Harman says a transfer student policy was approved for the coming year. “We do not have a limit on a number of new transfer students in the corporation,” he explains, “with the understanding that if the number of new transfers into the corporation increases to cause the hiring of staff, then the corporation may need to limit, per grade level, those new students requesting to transfer in the corporation.”

Harman also gave board members an update on the corporation’s wellness policy, which addresses physical activity and nutrition. He explains that it’s reviewed every year, in collaboration with the physical education department, school nurse, food service director, and school administrators.
