The Eastern Pulaski School Corporation is saying goodbye to two longtime bus drivers. “Miss Vicki Pugh retired from bus driving, and she actually drove for us a total of 42 years,” says Superintendent Dan Foster. “And Cheryl Rausch also stepped down from bus driving, and she was with us for 33 years. So that’s a lot of miles for two employees. We definitely appreciate their efforts, and wish them well in their retirements.” Those retirements were part of a list of personnel items approved by the school board Monday.
Foster says a special education vacancy at the elementary school was filled. “Mrs. Kari Combs has actually been a paraprofessional for us at the elementary in the special education area, and due to a lack of applicants, we put her on a temporary contract,” he explains. “She’s getting an emergency license to teach a special ed section next year. She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology, and she’s actually been taking classes to receive her teaching license, anyway.”
Foster says Sarah Mitchell was hired to take over the paraprofessional position, while Emma Kiser was hired as a middle school English teacher and yearbook adviser. Coaches for various sports teams were also appointed.
