Eastern Pulaski Elementary Students Get Help with School Supplies, Weekend Nutrition

Several Eastern Pulaski Elementary School students were able to start the school year with the proper resources, thanks to the generosity of the local community. Principal Jill Collins told the school board Monday that 75 students received school supplies from the Pack-A-Backpack program.

At the same time, she says 60 kids are getting nutritional help, thanks to the FUEL Program at the Winamac Nazarene Church. Students who may not have a steady food source outside of school are given food to take home for the weekend. Distribution takes place discretely, with food being placed directly in each child’s backpack.

Collins publicly thanked the volunteers who’ve helped with the efforts and all the community members who’ve donated.
