Knox Middle School is saying goodbye to a longtime staff member. Student Service Secretary Sindi Lord is retiring at the end of next week.
During Monday’s school board meeting, Principal Josh Pugh publicly thanked her for her years of service. “She shared with me that she has 25 years in, approximately, in the schools,” he said. “She’s been the first face you see at the middle school for many, many years. Every year I’ve been over there, she’s been there. She’s the first face that interacts with parents, kids, takes all of our phone calls. We’re going to miss her.”
The school board formally accepted Lord’s retirement, effective September 29.
