The employment of Winamac High School Basketball Coach Kyle Johnson is expected to be discussed when the Eastern Pulaski School Board meets in special session tonight. The board has been investigating Johnson, following an alleged altercation with Pulaski County Police last month.
Several community members spoke in support of Johnson’s continued employment, during the school board’s regular meeting earlier this month. Since then, board members have twice met in executive session to receive information about an individual’s alleged misconduct. But until now, they haven’t taken any formal action during a public meeting.
The only specific action item listed on tonight’s special session agenda involves the approval of personnel items. Superintendent Dan Foster says it appears Johnson’s athletic contracts will be discussed. Johnson is also employed as a teacher at Eastern Pulaski Schools.
Tonight’s special Eastern Pulaski School Board meeting starts at 5:30 at the corporation’s Conference/Meeting Center.
