Medaryville’s 2018 budget was formally adopted by the town council Wednesday. It calls for a General Fund of more than $257,000 and a Motor Vehicle Highway Fund of just under $76,000, with a total budget of just over $474,000.
Like other Pulaski County communities, Medaryville has to deal with a drop in county income tax revenues. But Clerk-Treasurer Judy Harwood says the town was prepared. “We pretty much kind of figured that was coming and planned on it,” she says.
Meanwhile, the town’s 2018 salary ordinance was presented for first reading Wednesday. Harwood says there’s only one change worth noting. “[We’re] looking into hiring an attorney to follow through with some of our ordinances, enforce our ordinances.”
Medaryville’s 2018 budget now goes to the Indiana Department of Local Government Finance for final approval.
