The Hamlet Town Park is getting some new playground equipment, thanks to organizers of the Haunted Fairgrounds event. They donated a digger to the park, according to Clerk-Treasurer Kristina Pitts. The device lets children work on their excavating skills by scooping up dirt and moving it around.
The digger was formally accepted by the Hamlet Park Board last week. The annual Haunted Fairgrounds event aims to raise funds for the town’s park department, as well as several other community organizations.
