The Pulaski County Commissioners are expected to continue their discussion of the county’s revolving loan program when they meet tonight. Last month, the commissioners conditionally approved a scaled-back request from Tippy’s. The Winamac restaurant is asking for financing to help move to a larger location.
But the number of steps required to get a loan led to some questions about how the program should operate going forward. A measure to freeze loans in the revolving loan program until January is scheduled to be considered during tonight’s meeting.
Meanwhile, Building Inspector Doug Hoover will give an update on Pulaski County’s blight elimination effort. The county has been working to demolish a Medaryville home with grant funding from the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority, but the project has faced several delays over the past seven months.
In other business tonight, the commissioners are expected to get an update on the replacement of the courthouse elevator. The new elevator would more easily fit people using wheelchairs, bringing the courthouse into compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Construction is scheduled to begin later this year.
Tonight’s Pulaski County Commissioners meeting starts at 6:00 p.m. EST at the Pulaski County Courthouse.
