The Pulaski County Commissioners last week approved the purchase of a pickup truck for the Recycling and Transfer Station.
Manager Brad Bonnell said its current truck is ready for replacement. “We’ve got some rust and some transmission issues, and I just feel that a 1999’s not worth putting any more money in,” he told the commissioners. “So I found a 2004, a Chevy, and it is a three-quarter-ton. We’ve been using a half-ton, but it’s just not enough, either. So a purchase price of $8,000, and I do have it in my budget. It’s off a private individual. I did ask the dealerships around and other car lots, but they couldn’t come up with anything.”
Bonnell plans to sell the old truck at auction, along with an unneeded air compressor.
