The Hamlet Town Council has approved several budget transfers to close out 2017. As each year’s budget comes to a close, local governments typically look for leftover money in various line items and use it to balance out shortfalls in other parts of the budget.
During Wednesday’s meeting, the Hamlet Town Council moved nearly $100,000 between line items in the town’s General Fund. Another $60,000 was transferred within the town’s Water and Sewer Fund.
