Changes to Pulaski County’s Unified Development Ordinance will be considered by the county commissioners this morning. The updates would provide guidelines for the development of breweries, distilleries, and wineries – things that aren’t addressed in the county’s current ordinance. Similarly, specifications would be put in place for short term-rentals, such as AirBnb.
The amended ordinance would also allow for urban agriculture, specifically, non-profit community gardens, and indoor and outdoor urban farms. Urban farming would generally be limited to crop production, but hydroponic, aquaponics systems, and aquaculture would be allowed in indoor farms.
Various setback changes and other updates are also proposed. The changes go to the county commissioners this morning, following the advisory plan commission’s unanimous approval last month.
In other business this morning, the Pulaski County Commissioners will consider the establishment of two new funds, as part of the process of receiving Community Crossings grants from the state. This morning’s meeting starts at 8:00 EST at the Pulaski County Courthouse.
