The Hamlet Town Council approved the town’s 2018 salary ordinance last week. Clerk-Treasurer Kristina Pitts said no changes are planned, until the town’s budget is finalized by the state.
During last week’s meeting, council members also approved Hamlet’s 2018 water budget at just over $122,000, and a sewer budget of nearly $220,000. Pitts explained why the sewer budget is a bit higher, “The bond is in there of $83,000 alone – which that number does go down, like $100 each year.”
A few expenses, like vehicle payments, will be shared between those two budgets.
