The Medaryville Town Council continues planning for a new water tower. Last week, representatives from Commonwealth Engineers reviewed the different types of water towers with council members, and made some recommendations for replacing the town’s current one, according to Clerk-Treasurer Judy Harwood.
She says council members also decided to notify McMahon Engineers that they’ll no longer be working with them on the water tower grant. Last fall, Medaryville bought property across the street from the town hall for the eventual construction of a water tower. Town officials have been looking into applying for a Community Development Block Grant from the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs, to help cover the cost.
Also during last week’s meeting, Harwood says council members signed a contract regulating water service to residents who live just outside the town limits. The four-year contract formally requires those water customers to follow the town’s rate ordinance.
