The Pulaski County Courthouse elevator is another step closer to getting replaced. On Monday, the county commissioners chose TL Kincaid Contracting to build the new elevator for $489,000.
Maintenance Supervisor Jeff Johnston explained that Keystone Architecture reviewed the three bids the county received. “Kincaid construction company meets all the requirements,” he said. “They are the lowest bidder. They recommend that those are the ones that you guys go with.”
Construction is scheduled to begin next month. Replacing the elevator is part of an effort to bring the Pulaski County Courthouse into compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Also during Monday’s meeting, the commissioners voted to table the opening of bids for lawn care and snow removal at various county properties. The bid process was already delayed once, due to the fact that no one bid on the work before the county’s original deadline. This time, though, Auditor Laura Wheeler said that seven bids had been received before Monday’s meeting.
