Hamlet’s loose dog problem appears to be resolved. During Wednesday’s town council meeting, police said the dog that had been causing the most complaints, a female pit bull, has been moved out of town by her owners.
Council member Brian Earnest said residents have noticed an improvement. “I know that homeowner that had had the issues with it’s been in and said that everything has been good,” he noted.
But police say a male dog that’s caused a few problems remains, and officers are keeping an eye on him. Going forward, police say that if they get more than two complaints about an animal and they catch it running loose, it will be seized and taken to the Starke County Humane Society.
