The Knox Community School Corporation is once again being recognized for its music programs. Superintendent Dr. William Reichhart read a letter from Band Director Craige Phipps to the school board Tuesday. “‘For the third year in a row, Knox Community Schools has been named a Best Community for Music Education by the NAMM Foundation,'” Reichhart read. “‘This is a national award, and Knox is among only 13 districts in the State of Indiana to receive the honor, and 583 school districts nationwide.’ So congratulations, once again, to our band.”
According to the NAMM Foundation, school corporations are judged based on their curriculum, funding, and participation in music programs, among other categories.
