Knox School Board Approves New Assignments for School Administrators

Several Knox school principals and assistant principals will soon be switching positions.

The school board Tuesday unanimously approved a list of administrative assignments for the 2018-2019 school year, as recommended by Superintendent Dr. William Reichhart.  “At the high school, Dr. [Elizabeth] Ratliff will continue as principal,” Reichhart explained. “Assistant principal at the high school will be Mr. [Glenn] Barnes. At Knox Middle School, the principal will be Mr. [Jake] Skelly. The assistant principal/AD will be Mr. [Josh] Pugh. That’s a middle school AD. And at the elementary, the principal will be Mrs. [Michelle] Tarnow, and we will need to be hiring an assistant principal, due to Mrs. [Rebecca] Despot’s request to go back to the classroom, and that was her request to do that.”

Reichhart explained that Pugh will not get a separate stipend for serving as middle school athletic director. Instead, those duties will be covered by his administrative salary. Meanwhile, the school board officially accepted Despot’s resignation from her administrative duties, as part of a list of several personnel changes.
