Registration Dates Set for Oregon-Davis Students, Officials Issue Vaccination Requirement Reminder

Officials from Oregon-Davis Community School Corporation recently announced that registration for the 2018-2019 school year will be held in July.

Student registration will run from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 25th and Thursday, July 26th. Officials noted that athletic physicals will also be available for students.

Something else that was included in this week’s “Bobcat Blast”, the corporation’s newsletter, was a reminder about required vaccinations.

Parents of incoming 6th grade students were informed that their children will need 1 Meningococcal vaccine and at T-dap vaccine.

Additionally, parents who have a child who will be a senior in the fall were alerted that there are few vaccinations those students must have before the start of school. In order to be compliant with Indiana State guidelines, incoming seniors must have one Meningococcal vaccine and one Hepatitis A vaccine.

The meningococcal is a booster vaccine, while the Hepatitis A is a 2-shot-series. The Hepatitis A shot was already a requirement for younger grades and next year grade 12 is included.

Officials recommend that parents make arrangements to have their children vaccinated over the summer.
