The Indiana Department of Natural Resources is giving Hoosiers a reason to get outdoors this weekend. Today and tomorrow are Free Fishing Days. That means Indiana residents don’t need a fishing license or trout stamp to fish public waters.
DNR officials say it’s a good chance for families to learn to fish together or to take someone fishing who doesn’t already have a license. Children age 17 and under don’t need a license on any day.
To celebrate Free Fishing Weekend, several parks around the state are holding special events today. They include Luhr County Park in LaPorte, Potato Creek State Park in North Liberty, and Rogers-Lakewood Park in Valparaiso.
