Lunch prices are going up for Oregon-Davis students. Last week, the school board approved a state-recommended 10-cent increase, according to Superintendent Dr. Don Harman. “Our kindergarten to fifth grade will go from $2.35 to $2.45,” he says. “Six through eighth grade will go from $2.45 to $2.55, and our ninth grade through 12th grade will go from $2.55 to $2.65.”
Harman says Oregon-Davis will continue to serve free breakfast to all students. The school board also ratified food bids selected through the Northern Indiana Educational Services Center.
Instructional fees for the 2018-2019 school year were also approved. About half of the grade levels saw an increase, while the rest went down.
Harman says school officials worked to keep the fees as minimal as possible. “It’s $60 for our one-to-one devices,” he explains. “All students, kindergarten through 12th grade, will have an iPad, and so embedded in that instructional fee is that $60.”
The instructional fees vary by grade level. At the elementary school, they range from $92.50 up to $105.75. Fees for required core classes at the junior/senior high school range from $140 to $170. Additional fees may be charged, depending on specific classes.
