More than $15 million worth of construction projects were permitted in Pulaski County in the first half of 2018. Building Inspector Doug Hoover gave his mid-year report to the county commissioners last week. “We had a total of 95 permits so far this year,” he said, “total fees of a little over $20,000 already for the year.”
He added that the Building Department was able to collect almost $3,000 from contractor registrations and renewals, due in large part to the efforts of Assistant Karla Kreamer. “That’s an increase from 2016 of 46 percent,” Hoover said, “and almost 62 percent, we’ve increased since last year.”
Hoover said improvements at the West Central School Corporation account for a lot of the work taking place, but he added that some other big projects are coming up.
