Insurance Change Should Result in Cost Savings for Oregon-Davis Schools

The Oregon-Davis School Corporation expects a significant cost savings following an insurance switch. The school board voted Monday to change the corporation’s property and casualty insurance provider, according to Superintendent Dr. Don Harman.

“We currently have Gibson, but we’re going to change to ESCRFT,” Harman explains. “ESCRFT is the Educational Service Centers Risk Funding Trust. We will be the 77th school district in the State of Indiana that utilizes ESCRFT. Going to ESCRFT, we will be able to save some money, some funds.” Harman says the switch will reduce the corporation’s annual premium by more than 30 percent.

ESCRFT is an insurance cooperative geared specifically toward Indiana’s public school districts.
