Multiple law-enforcement agencies came together this morning (Wednesday, September 19) to help locate a suspected burglar.
The Starke County Sheriff’s Department 911 Center reportedly received a call around 8:45 a.m. about a break-in in progress on 250 North near 200 East in Starke County.
A news release about the matter indicates that Starke County Sheriff’s Department Deputies and Indiana State Police Troopers responded to the area. When an ISP officer arrived, he apparently observed a male subject fleeing southbound into a cornfield. Officers from Knox, Hamlet, North Judson, ISP Aircraft and Lutheran air arrived and assisted with the search.
Approximately an hour and a half into the search, an ISP k9 located the suspect who was identified as 46-year-old Alfred Higdon, of Knox.
