Pulaski County is working to resolve some insurance issues with the Winamac Aero Modelers Field. Gene Timm discussed the issue with the county commissioners last week. “That organization had asked to see if the county could carry the liability and then they would reimburse the county,” he said. “That won’t work. They’ve got to have their own because that’s their function.”
The organization apparently does have its own insurance, but Timm said the request led to the discovery of a couple things that need to be corrected. “In my understanding, the county owns the property now, and eventually the buildings revert back to the county,” he said. “Nowhere is that listed on any of the county locations. So I would suggest that . . . we’ll just add it onto the general property thing, the location, and then they’re requesting that the county be added to their certificate of insurance, then, and that be on file.”
Neither the commissioners nor Winamac Aero Modelers Club President Greg Hildebrant voiced any opposition to Timm’s suggestions.
