The Eastern Pulaski School Board is looking for a new member. Board President Terri Johnston, who represents Van Buren Township, is stepping down because she’s moving out of the area, according to Superintendent Dan Foster. A new Van Buren Township representative is being sought to serve the remainder of Johnston’s term, which runs through the end of 2020.
Anyone who’s interested is asked to send a letter of interest to the Eastern Pulaski Community School Corporation Administration Building at 711 School Drive in Winamac, by Friday, November 2 at 4:00 p.m. Once the letters are received, Foster says board members may meet in executive session to narrow the list of candidates. Then, a committee will interview selected candidates, before making a recommendation to the full school board.
To qualify for the school board seat, each candidate must be a resident of the Eastern Pulaski School District for at least the past two years and Van Buren Township for the past one year. Candidates also need to be a U.S. citizen of legal age, a high school graduate or the equivalent, and not in violation of any state or federal laws that would otherwise prevent the appointment.
Anyone with questions about the position may contact Superintendent Foster at 574-946-4010.
