Hamlet Man Arrested for Dealing Meth, Following Undercover Investigation

Chad Dickson

An Indiana Department of Correction training officer was arrested Wednesday for allegedly dealing methamphetamine. Chad Dickson, 40, of Hamlet, was at the center of an investigation led by the Starke County and Marshall County Undercover Narcotics Investigation Team, according to Starke County Sheriff Bill Dulin.

Dulin says Dickson went to the Grovertown Truck Stop Wednesday afternoon expecting to meet a woman who would deliver methamphetamine, but he was met by police instead. When uniformed police officers tried to take him into custody, he reportedly tried to flee out of a side door but was apprehended.

Officers say Dickson had methamphetamine and paraphernalia. Later, he led police to his home, where Dulin says he turned over more methamphetamine and paraphernalia.

Dulin says Dickson was taken to the Starke County Justice Center, where he was charged with dealing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, resisting law enforcement, maintaining a common nuisance, and possession of paraphernalia.
