The business moving into the old Anvil & Saw property on Pulaski County Road 200 South still isn’t ready to officially request a tax abatement. The county council began the process back in August by adopting a preliminary resolution designating the site an economic revitalization area.
A public hearing and a final decision were scheduled for September and then again last week, but once again, Community Development Commission Executive Director Nathan Origer said the business isn’t ready. “The owner of the company is out there doing cleanup on the property so they can start getting ready for some construction and bringing in equipment, but the operations manager is handling the paperwork side of things, and she’s just not ready for that,” Origer told council members. “I think they’ve got some internal disagreement anyway, whether or not they want to pursue the tax abatement and so they’re fighting that out. So we do not have that on the agenda.”
Origer said the business would manufacture plastic containers, starting with 15 to 18 employees.
